How to use this calculator
Enter at-bats, hits, walks, hit by pitch and sacrifice flies. Batting average and on-base percentage are calculated.
Formulas
AVG = H ÷ AB OBP = (H + BB + HBP) ÷ (AB + BB + HBP + SF)
Example
150 hits in 500 at-bats, 60 walks, 5 HBP, 5 sacrifice flies:
- AVG = .300
- OBP = 0.377

.300 or higher is excellent in professional baseball; around .250 is roughly average.
